To become the site-specific wasn`t very difficult for contemorary dance - it was originally so. From Trisha Brown to the choreographers of our days it was uncomfortable and sad to exist only at the closed theater stages. Contemporary dance was always looking for something more.
It never tried to entertain the audience, but rather - to stir and make people think. Methods for this are always inventing very different. First you have to find in the city (or anywhere else), the place boasting its specific aura, and then try to "catch" the nature of space and "revive" it with a dance - it is successfully done by many choreographers in Europe and in the world.
This trend in the theater and contemporary dance has been called site-specific performance.
From October 6 to November 2 Buchok ART Family inviting a dancers who wish to experience the unusual format of this training in contemporary dance.
